Our office provides assistance in many aspects of family law and elder law. Our office may also be able to offer free legal advice and direction for almost any problem. Feel free to come in anytime during our regular business hours.

Legal Aid Society of Lubbock, Inc. only practices within the areas of family and elder law. This means that staff attorneys are able to assist clients with:
- Modification of child custody or child support
- Child custody/child support
- Protective Orders for Victims of Violence
- Adoptions
- Divorce
- Powers of Attorney
- Simple Wills
- Medical Powers of Attorney
- Physician's Directives (Living Wills)
Legal Aid Society of Lubbock does not take applications over the phone; however, we are working to accept applications online. Applications may be filled out at one of our offices. For location information, please visit the contact page.
Legal Aid Society of Lubbock, Inc. does not require appointments to fill out an application. Our Lubbock office hours for applications are: Monday-Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Our Levelland office hours for applications are: Monday-Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Applications are taken on a walk-in basis and can be completed in our office. We also accept applications at our remote legal clinic offered on a rotating basis at the Women’s Protective Services Shelter and in Dawson and Gaines Counties. When completing the application, you will need the name and address of the person you are filing against. You do not need to bring anything else. Once you have completed the application, you will be given a list of documents you will need to bring in for your next appointment.
Once you have completed the application at the Legal Aid office, you must call back to schedule an intake appointment. After completion of this appointment, it may take 2-4 weeks to receive your acceptance letter./p>
Legal Aid Society does not charge attorney’s fees. You could incur other fees as required that is associated with your case.
Unfortunately, we cannot answer that until we have completed your intake appointment. There are many things that are considered in determining whether a case will be accepted or not. This is the reason we will ask for income information for you and everyone in your household.

OUR MISSION
The Legal Aid Society of Lubbock works to provide low income clients of the South Plains with first-rate legal assistance, advocacy, and quality counsel in matters of family and elder law at free and/or reduced cost.
OUR HISTORY
The Legal Aid Society of Lubbock, Inc. began as a pro bono project of the Lubbock County Bar Association in order to address a recognized gap in legal services to low-income residents of Lubbock County. We were incorporated in 1974 and granted non-profit 501 (c)3 status that same year.
